About Our Program
Arkansas College and Career Coach Program
South Arkansas Community college has participated in the Arkansas College and Career Coach Program (formally known as Arkansas Works) through the Arkansas Department of Career Education dating back to 2010 with career coaches stationed in school districts in Bradley and Chicot counties. In 2018, SouthArk was able to expand it's reach into Union County. Currently SouthArk serves six school districts throughout three counties through the career coach program. The program organizes by grade-appropriate activities a series of college readiness strategies starting in the 8th grade to move students systematically toward college enrollment and completion, leading eventually to a fulfilling career. The career coaches functions as advisors to guide, support, and encourage students in the various activities and strategies employed in the program. |
Student success is our success. We strive to create advance educational/career opportunities for student from diverse backgrounds. Our goal is to prepare students with knowledge and the most efficient and effective resources to pursue their goals and desire. We focus on improving ACT score, college admissions, career planning, and financial aid, just to name a few. We also understand the importance of non-cognitive skills (soft skills) and strive to promote these skills in our students for increase employability and also increase success in post-secondary education.
