ACCUPLACER |
The ACCUPLACER is also a college placement test. This test is accepted by mostly junior and community colleges, however some universities will accept your ACCUPLACER Scores. Here are a few important facts about the ACCUPLACER:
- You can take the ACCUPLACER Test at EHS, facilitated by either of your career coaches
- The ACCUPLACER has a test fee of $10.00
- Not All Schools Accept ACCUPLACER scores

- Take free practice test with the online or smartphone app here (Select Next Generation practice test)
- ACCUPLACER is not timed
- You do not need to bring a Calculator
- You do not have to take all parts, i.e if you made a 20 on the ACT in reading but a 15 in math then you can choose to only take the math portion
College Application
- Get Organized Early - staying organized is the key when filling all the paperwork that accompanies your college application. Be consistent use the same exact name on all forms. Set your own deadlines. Save personal identification numbers, passwords, canceled checks and notes or emails from admissions officers
- Scores & GPA - Your scores determine the type of institution you will be accepted into. It is important that you work your entire high school career to get the scores and grades for where you want to be. Your scores will determine your class placement (Conditional Admittance or Unconditional)
- Email- Make sure you are using a professional personal email. If your email is [email protected] you need to make more professional email. [email protected]. Always make sure you remember or note your password. Make a habit of checking and responding to your emails.
- Deadline- You are becoming an adult and life is full of deadlines. Some colleges have priority deadlines. Please make sure you are aware of these deadlines. Form a habit of using your calendar, whether it is a physical calendar or the calendar on your phone.
- Ask For Help- If you need assistance with anything don't be afraid to reach out to us, a favorite teacher or your counselor. We are here because of you so take full advantage of your resources. Remember People are resources too!!!
- Transcript, Scores and Immunization Records- When you are applying to colleges you are not yet a high school grad, yet the institutions still wants your current transcript and scores. You can get your information sent by stopping by the guidance office and filing out a form, pay $2 to Mrs. Williams and she will take care of the rest. Make sure that you send a final transcript (download form) after you receive your diploma.
- Letters of Recommendation- give your chosen writer plenty of time to write- at least a month, if not more. If they are teachers, they may have to write several on top of their already packed schedules!
- College Entrance Essay- Write about something important to you. Passion is powerful. Don't just recount events, reflect! Make sure you start early (summer before senior year is ideal). Make sure ,if the essay is meant to answer a question, you include the answer. Take the essay to your favorite english teacher for review. Be accepting of feedback and make necessary changes.
